What Is Sports Taping?

Sports taping and kinesiology taping are techniques used by our physiotherapists at Action Plus Physiotherapy to support injured joints and muscles, reduce pain, manage swelling, and allow athletes and active individuals to continue training and competing safely during recovery. We offer two primary taping approaches — rigid sports taping, which provides firm structural support to unstable joints, and kinesiology taping (K-Tape / RockTape), which uses an elastic therapeutic tape that supports muscles and joints while still allowing full range of motion. Our physiotherapists are trained in a range of taping techniques and will select the most appropriate approach based on your injury, activity level, and goals. Taping is commonly used as a short-term adjunct to your physiotherapy treatment, not a replacement for proper rehabilitation.
